The weather is warming up, and that means one thing in Upstate South Carolina: festival season! Whether you live in Greenville, Greer, or Spartanburg, there is something fun happening almost every weekend this April and May.

Spring is the perfect time to get outside and see why so many people are moving to our area. Our local festivals show off the best of Southern hospitality. Here are a few big events you should add to your calendar right now:

• iMAGINE Upstate (April 4): Head to downtown Greenville for a huge day of family fun! This festival is all about science and technology, with tons of hands-on activities for kids.

• Hub City Hog Fest (April 10-11): If you love BBQ, this is for you. Spartanburg’s downtown transforms into a massive cook-off with live music and amazing food.

• Spring Means Babies (April 18): This is a local favorite at Split Creek Farm in Anderson. You can meet baby goats, try award-winning cheeses, and shop from local vendors.

• Piedmont Plant & Flower Festival (April 23-26): Get your garden ready! Visit the Greenville State Farmers Market for the biggest selection of spring plants and yard decor in the area.

• Pickens Azalea Festival (April 24-25): One of the largest family reunions in the Southeast! Expect hundreds of vendors, food, and beautiful blooms in downtown Pickens.

• Greer Goes Global (April 25): Visit Greer City Park to experience food, music, and art from dozens of different countries.

• The Duck Derby (May 2): Watch 10,000 rubber ducks race down the falls at Falls Park in Greenville! It’s a huge spectacle that supports local charities.

• SpringSkunk Music Fest (May 6-9): Head to "The Skunk Farm" in Greer for a weekend of Americana and bluegrass music. It’s a hidden gem for music lovers.

• Artisphere (May 8-10): This is one of the top art festivals in the country. Downtown Greenville fills up with incredible artists, live demos, and great food.

• Greenville Greek Festival (May 15–17): Get ready to be "Greek for a day!" This is one of the most popular food festivals in the Upstate. Located at St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, you can enjoy authentic gyros, baklava, and amazing traditional dancing.

• Gallabrae – Greenville Scottish Games (May 22–23): This festival is a massive celebration of Celtic culture. It kicks off with a huge parade on Main Street Friday night and continues Saturday at Furman University with heavy athletics, bagpipes, and highland dancing. It’s the perfect way to spend Memorial Day weekend!
